Scampitella Wind Farm
The Scampitella wind farm is located in the “Serra Trucciolo-Monte Cicala” e “Serra del Lupo” areas of the Scampitella Municipality, Avellino Province. The plant is based on 16 2 MW wind turbines and relevant interconnection to the National Grid facilities, for an overall installed capacity of 32 MW.
The permitting procedure has been carried out according to the applicable Campania Region’s guidelines; main permits obtained were relevant to (i) the environmental impact assessment, (ii) the building permit and (iii) the interconnection facilities construction and operation permit.
Plant construction was handled by Foster Wheeler Italiana S.r.l., through a service contract covering engineering, procurement, construction supervision and start up services.
The project has been financed through a “non-recourse” project financing scheme; BNP Paribas group acted as sole arranger and underwriter of the deal.
The plant started its commercial operation on December 29, 2009, and it's capable to produce up to 60 GWh/year of electric energy, enough to feed the needs of about 22.000 homes, lowering CO2 emissions for an amount of about 40.000 t/year.
